Say a Thousand Thank You’s!

Sunrise

In the film Awakenings, Robert DeNiro plays a patient who awakens in a hospital to learn that he’s been in a coma-like existence for decades.

His childlike discovery of the outside world overwhelms him with wonder. The feel of water, a child’s laughter, the taste of food-these experiences and a thousand more come crashing in on him and he’s amazed. And thankful. It shouldn’t have to take a coma to awaken us to the many things we can be thankful for, so here is an assignment for you.

Go out and purchase a pretty blank book and begin to list things you are thankful for, from the serious to the silly and everything between: a place to live, Hershey’s chocolate with almonds, computer backup files, your favorite magazine, website the Savvy Woman (smile).

Make a promise to yourself to add to your list every day and when you’re feeling down, pull out your list and thank God for His goodness.

If you are one of the ladies’ that are single or you do not have a man in your life to keep your car in good running condition then you can do it yourself.

A Prayer for Mothers

happy-mothers-day-1 A Prayer for MothersProverbs 31:28A (King James Version)
28Her children arise up, and call her blessed;

Lord,
Today, I thank You for mothers. Mothers who love and nurture their children. Mothers who are striving to rear their children in the right way and along the right path.

I thank You specifically for my mom, who is the epitome of what a mother should be…kind, gentle, consistent, wise and not allowing me to get away with bad behavior. I pray that You strengthen mothers and those who have are mothers without giving birth.

I pray that they seek Your face in the rearing of their children. I pray that You give them wisdom. I pray that You give them rest. I pray that You give them peace. I know that society does not do as much as it should to support the rearing of children, so I turn to You Lord, the great supporter to provide that which they need.

In the loving of their children, help them to give the children the chastisement that is necessary, when it is necessary. Reveal to them who their children really are and show them how to rear and nurture them. Let them feel Your love for them. Bless them now.

They do not have the easiest job, but it is one of the most important roles there is. Encourage them. Speak to their hearts. Fill them with joy. Let their children rise up and call her blessed.

In the blessed name of Jesus with thanksgiving and may God be glorified. Amen.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL THE MOMS!!! BE BLESSED.
